    is this a poor explanation? if you get in a rocket and take off, your moving different, the cats moving the same as it was . And time is not effected by movement. One minute from now will take one minute, no matter where you are in space, no matter how fast your going, no matter what. The timing of certain things will be effected, but not "time".

    Good video, but the nonbinary joke is really pointless because of water vapour, as it is obviously true regardless of talking about these ice phases.

    It's been a while since I last seen this video. But I remember watching for the first time back in 2011-2012. Not many ideas explained in less than 2 minuts have stuck like this one have. minutephysics, Veritasium and vlogbrothers was the channels that made me fall in love with youtube.

    Think about it this way, Jupiter is the largest planet, it is 317 times heavier than the Earth and 1300 times larger, but the sun only weighs 1047 times heavier than Jupiter.

    Writing this comment while on 1:12. I believe that option B once again makes the most sense. Each piece of the cube has a particular velocity. The part of the cube that's already exited the blue portal has a velocity pointed out of it, while the part not yet entered the orange portal has a velocity of 0. So it would either be option C., the cube's first half pulls its second half the rest of the way through, with the caveat of having lower velocity compared to if the entire cube passed through, or B. the cube's structural material's strength is not sufficient to stay together with the tension of the two sections and it would tear apart.

    • @CanoTheVolcano
      @CanoTheVolcano 14 годин тому

      At 2:13 Portals have to be placed on a surface, so there is some wall that you are moving toward the cube, and by consequence moving the portals toward the cube. So I would imagine one of two things would happen. The cube either gets crunched, as its left side presses hard against its right side, or you face some resistance due to the cube's compressive strength, however I don't feel that this is a good explanation due to the cube not making any contact with the portal edge or the wall the portal is placed upon.

    I wonder if a small and very quickly evaporating black hole could be a better energy source. Imagine if a black hole is constantly fed with matter exactly at its evaporation rate due to Hawking radiation, which can be made arbitrarily fast over time (smaller black holes evaporate quicker). Will it count as a near-100% conversion of matter into energy?

    The combination of "too good to be true" and "does it support my worldview" tends to be what most noticeably gets my pause moment going. It's always good to check whether that perfect story that so clearly proves that other people are in denial about something is, in fact, true. Because if you lose that, you _become_ the person in denial.

    Life was created by a Superintelligence in 2 separate unique data strings as base pairs in spatial sequence(s). It is about time Scientists all over the world accept this! It us ime to get over this nonsense that Life had no Creator. Use your brains. Examine 60+ years of molecular biology, open your eyes, and see. There is no way to fill in the genetic codon to amino acid "matching table" at random and havd it correlate to a complex functional protein 5p or more amino acids 25 different times times, tbe minimal protein set for information based life forms needed for protein synthesis and DNA replication in a cell wall free environment. How can i say this with complete confidence? Simple! 54! does not fit into our universe ( find the video on youtube by that name.) The "matching table" has 64 places for matching 20 amino acids. There are more than 54! ways to arrange those codons to amino acids. No stretch of DNA bases can match a protein of 50 amino acids by random odds, given those odds for the table. No spontaneously assembled strings of amino acids which serve a function can be "backwards coded" intk a sequence of bases, RNA or otherwise. No back coding, no preservation of functional protein in the future generations. Aminoacyl-trna synthetases zre utterly selective complex nanomachines. 20 different ones (or even 16) somply cannot arise from random code. There are 61 tRNAs. ECh must exist as tens to hundreds of thousands of copies to begin protein synthesis. To do this, each must be pre-loaded with ione highly specific a.a or a homologous one CORRECTLY, or protein synthesis does not create the very first proteins. Let'a all face it: no random process can create/assemble kilobytes to megabytes of 64 bit information in proper sequence. And, dear reader, what distinguishes Life on Earth from non-livinv matter, is DIGITAL SYMBOLIC INFORMATION as ordered base pair sequrnces which specifies the construction of utterly complex nanomachines which work in concertto enable metabolism and DNA or RNA replication. Doubt me? R. Dawkins says DNA holds digital information. I hold him to everything that implies, but believe his thinking stops short of my explanation above. I welcome debate.

    Deep Thought's answer to the question, "What is the meaning of Life?" was, "42." Now, this was not Douglas Adam's joke upon the reader, nor that life was truly ultimately meaningless, absurd, or both.* Yes, and no. Adams wS a computer programmer back in the days of BASIC and ASCII. And, the binary 42 was the * on tbe teletype, and meant, in programming language, a " wildcard character which stands for a string of other characters without spekling them all out. In essence, it means, "Whatever you want it to mean." Now you know the meaning of life!

    The meaningvof life is to manifest maximally the potential inherent in the instructions which specify what the organism is capable of. In an acorn, a towering oak which removes CO2, makes wood and CHOs, nourishes its environment, provides shade, holds soil to prevent erosion, and so, so, so much more. And, for us humandms, ideally, to live and produce what fruits love creates for the betterment of planet and all life on Earth.
